What is a regenerative thermal oxidizer? How it works and its principles.

A Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) is a highly efficient industrial device used to destroy air pollutants like Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Hazardous Air Pollutants.

By pulling emissions through ceramic media columns, the system preheats the air before it reaches a combustion chamber. There, temperatures of approximately 1,500°F convert more than 99% of toxins into CO2 and water vapor.

The "regenerative" aspect comes from reversing the airflow every few minutes, allowing the ceramic media to capture and reuse heat from the exhaust. This design enables the RTO to achieve over 95% thermal efficiency, significantly reducing operational costs while ensuring EPA compliance.
