    Container manufacturer seals the deal with a TRITON RTO

    Catalytic Products International (CPI) recently completed the installation of a new TRITON Series Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) to a Midwest-based, two piece, polymer-coated steel can manufacturer for the abatement of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) generated in the metal decorating process.

    This container manufacturer had previously worked with CPI to install two TRITON RTOs at a sister plant.  Over the past seven years, we've worked closely to support the customer as their process has gone through a formulation change producing some operational challenges with the formation of Si02.  Our Aftermarket Service Engineers also worked closely with this customer to optimize the operation of these units to maximize production uptime.

    When it came time to expand their production capabilities, which includes adding a new can manufacturing and metal decorating line, CPI was once again selected as the supplier for the air pollution control equipment. The new metal decorating line is expected to exhaust VOC pollutants that require an efficient VOC abatement solution to meet EPA Clean Air standards. 

    We took a partnership approach with the customer as it relates to installation. Along with providing the RTO system, including rigging and electrical installation, our team provided the engineering necessary, and developed a ductwork drawing package that was used by the customer to obtain quotations from third-party sub-contractors that were then hired direct by the customer to complete the installation.  On each project, we guarantee the entire system provided the engineering scope of supply is met. 

    The 7,500 SCFM, TRITON Series RTO includes innovative design features allowing for continuous VOC destruction which is not hindered by any operational characteristics.  The system's low cost of operation will center on the use of a nominal 95% primary heat exchanger, utilizing sophisticated TSS control logic which constantly monitors and adjusts the system to maximize thermal efficiency.
