CPI Installs RTO for Odor Control at Pet Food Manufacturer

Catalytic Products International installed two (2) Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) at a Midwest pet food manufacturing facility for the abatement of odorous Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) generated during the palatant manufacturing process.

The TRITON III RTOs will destroy VOC and odorous emissions including methyl mercaptan, dimethyl disulfide, and hydrogen sulfide with +98% destruction rate efficiency (DRE) and a thermal energy recovery (TER) of +95%.

Catalytic Products International (CPI) recently completed the installation of a new Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) at a Midwest-based, two piece, polymer-coated steel can manufacturer for the abatement of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) generated in the metal decorating process. This new RTO is a duplicate on an existing RTO installed in 2017, as the facility continues to expand with new steel can processing and metal decorating lines.

LFG is composed of approximately 50 percent methane (CH4), 50 percent carbon dioxide (CO₂) and small amounts of non-methane organic compounds (NMOCs). NMOCs include reactive volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
