A custom coating operation recently installed a TRITON-Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) manufactured by Catalytic Products International, Inc. CPI provided a turnkey installation including engineering and design of the RTO, the fugitive enclosure system to meet method 204, the ductwork system from all production lines, foundation work, electrical integration, and rigged the oxidizer. The project was installed on time and without any added costs.

A synthetic leather manufacturer worked with Catalytic Products International, Inc. to design a unique Thermal (recuperative) Oxidizer. A recuperative thermal oxidizer was chosen because of high solvent LEL (+25%) exhausted from the process and a desire to integrate a hot oil heat recovery system to work with the oil heated production coating/curing line.

Many industries utilize silicone as an ingredient in their manufactured product. Silicone enhances the attributes of the product or helps to improve production characteristics. Whatever the reason may be, users of solvent borne silicone's all face very troubling issues when it comes to the selection of the right air pollution control system.

Catalytic Products International (CPI) recently completed the installation of a VECTOR-Series Catalytic Oxidizer at a custom web coating facility to eliminate the VOC emissions exhausted from three different coating lines. After an extensive technology review the VECTOR Catalytic Oxidizer was installed because it offered the highest reliability, lowest installed cost, and lowest operating costs.

Ammonia has increasingly become more of a regulatory concern. Ammonia emissions into the atmosphere have been linked to the formation of fine particulate matter while ammonia emissions in wastewater are restricted because of the adverse effect the chemical has on rivers, lake, and aquifers.

A large midstream natural gas processing facility was in urgent need of a VOC abatement device for their newly expanded gas processing plant. The operator was expanding their operations at an unusually fast pace. In the process of bringing on new gas treating capacity, they found themselves up against the limits of their current operating permit. Any new sources would put them over their limits as defined under EPA guidelines: 40 CFR, Part 63, Subpart HH – National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Oil and Natural Gas Production Facilities.

An Oklahoma Petroleum Processor worked with Catalytic Products International to integrate a custom solution into their storage tank and transfer operations. This particular application required a special design that would meet a constant +98% destruction of the VOC’s and HAP’s across a wide range of solvent loadings (from low to high).

A multitude of chemical and petroleum processing facilities across the country are now faced with having to meet new National Emission Standards for Miscellaneous Organic Chemical Manufacturing. One specific NESHAP is 40 CFR part 63, subpart FFFF.

A Silicone Tape Converter recently replaced a poorly designed thermal oxidizer with a custom engineered thermal oxidizer designed by Catalytic Products International, Inc. The process coated film with a silicone based adhesive. The silicone vaporizes with other VOC’s in the drying process and is ducted to the thermal oxidizer. The combustion process converts the silicone vapors to a powder – like Silicon DiOxide. In a traditionally designed thermal oxidizer, the SiO2 clings to metal surfaces and causes lost efficiency with excessive maintenance.

A chemical processing facility recently installed a VECTOR Catalytic Oxidizer to replace a competitors Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer. The RTO was installed 5 years earlier and could not provide the reliability demanded by the client. The problem stemmed from a basic mis-application of the technology. As is very common, many air pollution control equipment manufactures have abandoned recuperative technology in favor of focusing on regenerative technology.
